Loren Purcell
BIOGRAPHY
Loren Began drawing when he was six years old.
Starting with crayons he quickly developed a love for art. He
had the opportunity to draw from nature while growing up on an
80-acre farm in Utah.
At 17 Loren enlisted in
the Army to serve as the Illustrator for the 19th. Special Forces,
the Green Berets. This path led him around the world packing a
M-16 machine gun. During his enlistment he completed numerous
murals depicting military history and was commissioned to paint each
succeeding commander and other ranking military officials.
After six years in the
service, Loren moved to Henderson, Nevada. He began an
apprenticeship with his father, renowned artist Roy Purcell.
Loren began accepting commissions from well-known clientele in the
area and crated artwork for casinos such as Sam's Town, Palace
Station and the Las Vegas Hilton.
Loren's most recent
endeavor is working with a Nevada publishing company, KC
Publications, creating a series of illustrated children's books and
coloring books and calendars about the legacy of America's National
Parks. |
